Hi Bill,
I just moved back to the Boston area after a 7 year hiatus. Kevin Lillis was good friend and roommate back in the mid-70’s. I first met him when I was booking bands and managing Bunratty’s up on Harvard Street in Allston.
I fell out of touch with him in the mid 80’s as a young family and early career took center stage.
I’ve checked various search engines over the years, but your reference was one of the first “first person” reference to him. Do you have any contact information, or perhap know someone who would have?
Thanks in advance…….
Regards,
Mick
No Mick, I don’t. That’s why I posted about him. The piece of video those recent pics come from is all I’ve been able to find. It has since been “removed by user.” Go figure.
We enjoyed playing at Bunratty’s. I think we did New Year’s Eve there once. When did you room with Kevin? I remember he had a place across the river at the N. Harvard/Western Ave. intersection. He got a little black puppy named Ahshi. He had a beautiful blonde girlfriend (name escapes me). Does any of this ring a bell?
Based on the NYT review a couple of months ago, I chose the 2013 Pushcart Prize XXXVII as the source for a discussion group I lead (we’ve used the 2007 Granta Best American SS for the past 3 seasons). I am quite excited about the material I’ve seen so far.
What I’d like to know is what parameter (if any) you used for the order in which the stories, poems, etc, appear in the book. If there is no parameter, is there a reason? Or are you just a cussed individualist?
Anne the librarian (ret)
I’m afraid you have the wrong Bill Henderson, Anne. I’m certainly well aware of the Pushcart Prize Series, and I’ve admired it for years. I’m less thrilled by that Bill Henderson’s strident Luddite tendencies, which strike me as phobic bordering on paranoid. I’ve written about that here, and especially here.

Hi Bill,
I am currently in preproduction of a podcast on Ry Cooder. I have enjoyed your 1970 interview very much and was wondering wether you would agree to let me use a few outtakes.
Maybe it would be best if you contacted me via e-mail? Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Frank
